Lantern, a public benefit corporation providing step-by-step guidance for navigating life before and after a death, raised a $1.4M Seed round. With this funding Lantern will focus their attention on team expansion and deeper investment in product development and enterprise partnerships. Lantern offers products across both pre-planning and post-loss, empowering users and their loved ones to deal with one of the most difficult problems we all face.

Goodfair, an eCommerce platform reinventing d2c thrift, was recently featured in the Houston Chronicle. The article highlights their strategic decision to market to “namely young people in their teens and early 20s — Gen Z — who prefer used clothes as a sustainable practice that helps the environment.” This has been extremely successful, sending Goodfair viral on TikTok, and across other social channels. With Goodfair’s growing popularity and expansive online thrift products, Topper Luciani, founder of Goodfair, is on track for what “he hopes will become the Amazon.com of thrift shopping.”

FloQast, a provider of accounting workflow automation created by accountants for accountants, made the list for the Deloitte 2020 Technology Fast 500™ Rankings, coming in at 95! This list encompasses the fastest-growing technology and life sciences companies in North America.

AltoIRA, a FinTech company democratizing access to alternative investments, were recently listed as a top-5 Roth IRA provider by US News. “This firm is unique as it enables investors to use their Roth IRAs to invest in alternative assets such as cryptocurrency, private real estate, startups, venture funds and more,” says Tara Fung, AltoIRA’s chief revenue officer. Alto provides access to assets that are typically out of reach for average investors.

Winc, a personalized wine subscription box, was ranked as the best wine subscription company overall by Business Insider. Connie Chen from Business Insider said, “The modern wine club model is nearly perfect in Winc’s hands, from its large and on-trend bottle variety to its streamlined browsing and customer rating system.” Winc’s Summer Water wine was the #1 ranked rose this year by both Delish and Good Housekeeping.
