Repost acquired by SoundCloud, Clutter acquires Omni, and more in our latest Community Update
We’re excited to share a few acquisitions from the Amplify family this week!
Repost, a monetization and rights management platform for independent musicians, was recently acquired by SoundCloud. Repost joined Amplify in 2015 and it has since risen to become one of the music industry’s fastest growing distribution platforms representing artists and labels like Mayer Hawthorne and Red Bull Records. The deal marks SoundCloud’s second acquisition ever, and will enable artists across SoundCloud’s platform to seamlessly access Repost’s tools — including distribution, analytics, and content protection. Congratulations to Repost founders Jeff Ponchick and Joey Mason — we’re excited for what the future holds!
Clutter, an on-demand platform for storage and moving, recently acquired the storage business of Omni. Omni had previously raised $44M and will now focus exclusively on rentals of personal items. The acquisition marks the further expansion of Clutter’s physical storage capacity, an area the company plans to focus heavily on since closing its $200M Series D earlier this year.
Iconery, an end-to-end platform for jewelry design, production, and retailing, was recently acquired by Heartbeat. Iconery joined Amplify in 2015 and pioneered influencer commerce, helping top influencers like Rashida Jones and Jen Gotch launch their own luxury collections. Iconery founder Ivka Adams will be joining Heartbeat to lead marketing — congratulations Ivka!
In other news, Amplify Managing Partner Paul Bricault was named to the LA500 List, covering the most influential Angelenos across a variety of fields. Over the years, Paul has helped pioneer the early-stage tech ecosystem in LA — well deserved!
